AdSysNet Password Manager is a web-based Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) and account unlock utility designed specifically for Microsoft Active Directory environments. It allows end users to securely manage their own credentials, reducing repetitive helpdesk calls.
Deploying AdSysNet Password Manager within an enterprise network requires a structured approach across four major software components: the Service Component, Admin Console, Help Desk Console, and User Web Console. Phase 1: Environment Preparation
Before running the installer, ensure the target server meets the infrastructure requirements:
Operating System: Windows Server (with IIS enabled if hosting the web consoles locally).
Active Directory Integration: The server must have network connectivity to your target Domain Controllers.
Service Account: Dedicate a specific Active Directory service account with minimum delegated rights to reset user passwords and unlock accounts within target Organizational Units (OUs).
Network Ports: Open necessary firewall ports for LDAP/LDAPS communication to Domain Controllers and HTTP/HTTPS for the web consoles. Phase 2: Core Installation & Initialization
Run the Installer: Download and launch the setup file (30 MB package) on your designated application server.
Deploy the Service Component: Follow the wizard to install the central Service Component. This serves as the engine that processes all security tokens, encryption tasks, and Active Directory directory queries.
Establish Domain Connections: Launch the environment initialization manager. Provide your Active Directory domain name, and input the credentials for your dedicated AD service account to bind the application to your directory tree. Phase 3: Administrative Configuration
